ASSC Membership Terms & Privacy Notice

These terms apply to paid membership in the Association & Society Speakers Community (“ASSC,” “we,” “us” or “our”). By completing checkout, you agree to these terms and authorize the recurring membership charge described below.

1. Membership and eligibility

ASSC is a professional community for speakers who want to build stronger businesses in the association and society market. Members are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting their login credentials and using the community in a professional and lawful manner.

2. Price, recurring billing and renewal

  • Professional Membership is $99 USD per month.
  • Your membership renews automatically each month until it is cancelled.
  • You authorize ASSC and its payment processor to charge your selected payment method on each renewal date.
  • Your $99 monthly rate remains protected while your membership stays continuously active.
  • If a payment cannot be processed, access may be paused while the payment issue is resolved.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time by contacting aidan@shortcircuitmedia.com. Cancellation stops future renewals once processed. To avoid another charge, submit your cancellation request before your next renewal date. You will retain access through the end of the period already paid for unless otherwise stated.

4. Refunds

Previously paid membership fees are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. Cancelling prevents future renewal charges; it does not reverse a charge for a membership period that has already begun.

5. What membership includes

Membership may include live group sessions, individual guidance, workshops, buyer interviews, requests for speakers, AI-assisted business tools, member resources, directory participation and private community access. Specific sessions, tools and resources may evolve as the community develops.

6. No guaranteed business outcome

ASSC provides education, perspective, tools and community support. We do not guarantee speaking engagements, leads, revenue, contracts or any other business result. Members remain responsible for their own decisions, outreach, offers and professional services.

7. Community conduct

Members must treat other members, guests and association contacts respectfully. Harassment, unlawful activity, misuse of member information, unsolicited mass promotion and conduct that undermines the safety or value of the community may result in restricted or terminated access. Private member information may not be sold, scraped or redistributed.

8. Intellectual property and recordings

ASSC materials, workshops, tools, recordings and member resources are provided for the member’s individual professional use unless we give written permission otherwise. Members may not republish, resell, distribute or create competing repositories from ASSC content. Members retain ownership of the original material and expertise they contribute.

9. Directory and profile visibility

If you choose to participate in a public member or speaker directory, information you submit for that purpose may be publicly visible. You are responsible for keeping your profile accurate and for obtaining permission to publish any third-party material you upload.

10. Privacy notice

We may collect account details, contact information, profile information, membership status, support communications, participation information and transaction records needed to operate ASSC.

We use this information to:

  • create and maintain your membership account;
  • process recurring membership payments;
  • provide member access, support, sessions and resources;
  • send operational membership communications;
  • improve community programming and member experience;
  • protect the community and comply with legal obligations.

Payment information is handled by the payment provider shown during checkout and is subject to that provider’s terms and privacy practices. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate hosting, email, payments, scheduling, analytics and member services. We do not sell member contact information.

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of eligible personal information by emailing aidan@shortcircuitmedia.com. Some records may be retained where reasonably required for payments, security, legal compliance or dispute resolution.

11. Changes to ASSC or these terms

We may improve or modify community features, schedules and resources. If we make a material change to these terms or to recurring billing, we will provide reasonable notice through the website, member portal or email.
